Mickey says HI!

OK, I’m back from Orlando.
The better half actually let me do some shopping, with her in the store encouraging me to spend more on trains!

Recent purchases include a Proto CSX SD50, Walthers Budd Dome in Amtrak Phase 4 livery & a few box cars from Athearn, Walthers RTR.

Has anyone checked out the live steam at the Magic Kingdom?
It is actually live steam, the locomotives that they have were brought from Mexico & run on diesel fuel.
Origionally coal but the EPA put the brakes on coal fed steam around Orlando.

Gordon

she encouraged you? has she been looking at jewelry or new cars lately?

LOL Good thought!!

No, I bought her a diamond pendant necklace for our anniversary last month, & we bought a newer vehicle in July.

Gordon

LOL, Hilarious, a load of trains for a diamond necklace and a new car, who got the better deal??? better check those receipts.

I never been on the steam trains at WDW but the ones at California’s Disneyland are awsome! I heard that there will be a Ward Kimball soon.

Welcome back Gordon, glad you had a good time.

It is not necessarily common knowledge that both Walt and Ward Kimball, as well as a number of others on the original animation staff, were big fans of trains. The last time I was at Disney World was about six and a half years ago.

While we were there I found myself wandering through one of the “10 million” gift shops on the property, and ended up in the book section of the store. There I stumbled onto a book titled Walt Disney’s Railroad Story, and bought it.

It has been stashed away until now, still bearing it’s original shrink wrap and $59.95 price tag. I just opened it and noticed that the book was done by Pentrex. The truth is that it was the trains that gave rise to the theme park, not the other way around.[swg]

very interesting…

Tatans, she got the necklace, I drive the new car & the new locomotive & rolling stock
I think I got the better deal! [;)]

Gordon

awosme stuff

As long as you are happy Gordon.[swg]
