A little while back I asked for ideas on wht to do with an odd spot. A little builders block there. Digging through old plasticville buildings I have in storage from mny years ago I found a building from a purchase of parts and pieces i got on ebay a few years back. Not sure if this is a brewery from faller of a life like bottling works kit.
I pulled the annex of the back that had loading doors. Found it fit the spot perfectly. Thus was born the micro brewery since the kettles are still in the building. With some disassembly, work and lots of paint, the creation below appeared. Still some work to do.
Ok lots of work. Along with lots of work in the surrounding scenery. People, seats tables, random details, some kind of umbrella or overhead canape to finish it off. interesting how sometimes the building tells you what will go in a spot not the other way around.
You just had to post that second photo, didn’t you Wayne?
You didn’t need to post that second photo, but you did it anyhow, Wayne, just to taunt me, didn’t you Wayne?
For those of you not in the know, I have lusted for that Bertram structure for years and even offered to pay Wayne a six figure number to get it. He not only won’t sell it to me, but he continually taunts me with his frequent postings of the Bertram photo.
Where did you get the brick walls with the railings? That patio scene is going to be excellent.
You might want to fix that huge pot hole in the street. [(-D] It looks like it’s about a foot deep! [:O] [(-D]
Mike.
PS. Rich, I feel your pain…[sigh] There was no need for Dr. Wayne to once again…flaunt Bertrams right in your face like that. I have the feeling it was directed right at YOU. [:O]
I’d say you got over your builders block quite nicely! I love how bright and cheery the building looks, and the patio will be very inviting once the details are applied.
Walthers has a few options for populating the beer garden. Unfortunately the stuff isn’t cheap. The best value might be the Busch set at $40.99. It gets you tables, benches, lots of people and most importantly, full beer steins!
Well sure if you’re going to try to low-ball him on your offer, of course he’ll ignore you. Six figures won’t do. That’s just walking-around money for Dr. Wayne. He sneers at your pocket change.
Pay the man what he’s worth.
But to the topic at hand, I have noticed that many micro breweries/brew pubs do favor funky, industrial “steam punk” sorts of structures, and some are near railroad lines or waterways. An interesting and realistic choice for a non (but perhaps, once) rail served structure on the modern day layout.
