I would model Iowa Northern in 2006 but I can’t find decals, plus it would be hard to paint that scheme. But CP had the same scheme and Athearn makes a CP GP38-2 and I was wondering if anybody here has had microscale make custom decals?
I would need them that say “Iowa Northern” for the sides and I’d need a roadnumber set. How much would it cost to have enought decals for, say, 12 engines?
I know, it depends on the decals but if you have ever had custom decals made, how much did they cost?
Thanks[:)]
heres what it needs to look like http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=99947 the only thing I’m not going to change is the red on the cab. I would leave that like it was on CP.
Dingoix,
I do not know the answer to your question, but you can email Vickie@Microscale.com or call her @ 800-722-5300. She will tell you what kind of art work you would need to provide her and also a quote for what you had in mind. Maybe you already know all of this, but I just thought I would pass it along if you didn’t. Vickie is the person who handles the custom decal side for Microscale. Hope this helps.

Yeah, I might contact them just to see.
A fellow I know has had some custom decals made from Microscale, he made them to sell. I think he said their minimum order is for 250 sets. Other firms make special runs of custom decals - 25-50 sets, check the ads in MR.

I had some made and you do need a minimim of 250 sheets. Vickie was very nice to work with.
Not from Microscale, but Eric at “elstrains@mindspring.com”. He made a set of decals for my Cof Ga woodchip car (I generated the artwork on the computer) for $10 setup + $6 per set. First set got lost in the mail; he made a second set, no charge.

min order is indeed 250 so I’ll see about other custom makes if I’m still interested.
