Mid-America Train & Toy Show - Kansas City

Anybody know when the next one is? I usually receive a notice of it in the mail, but nothing so far…

Edit: subject name - bit of a Freudian slip there?

Miss America and trains? Sign me up!!! LOL

Here are the listings for KC… nothing soon according to that, but the Great Train Expo will be in KC on March 19th and 20th.

'Hope this helps… Bob

Thaks, Bob, but I’d already seen that site’s listing. I was hoping to get something a bit more locally dedicated. Unfortunately, Steve Stitch, the organizer/owner of the show, is a bit haphazard about his advertising. My only worry is that he’s given up the shows altogether. I know he’s been in a bit of a bind financially of late, as are many these days, but it will be sad to see the only locally-owned major train show/swap meet go down the tubes…

I live in Kansas City and have heard absolutely nothing here about Mid America Train show.

Gary and Pastor Bob…

My only reference here, is a copy of outr train club minutes which shows the Mid-West show is scheduled for March 27th, 2011. I’m trying to verify this with our club president at present… and I’ll let you know as soon as I hear something.

Bob

According to our club president, we are still scheduled to have our club’s training module there at the Mid-West show on March 27th.

There is also another show the week before… the Great Train Exo at the American Royal complex on March 19th and 20th of this year.

Just to confirm what has already been posted – see the second item in this link:

Also, Show Me Model Railroad Company in Grandview has a hand-written sign in the store confirming the March 27th date.

My experience is that the postcards announcing the event usually arrive no more than a couple of weeks prior to the date.

Over the last four years I frequently attended the show each time it was held. My problem, as referenced above, was knowing when the next one was going to be held. Perhaps a little more advertising would be money well spent for the organizer. Most MR folks in the KC area have never even heard of the quarterly event!

A point well taken, and another problem they seem to have as scheduling their show for the same weekend as other train shows. This time I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Mid-West show was not on ths same weekend as the Great Train Expo. I believe that the last two GTE shows, as well as the 2010 NMRA Turkey Creek Divn. shows all shared the same weekend as the Mid-West show.

It’s a shame they miss out on so many possible opportunities… Bob

The next Mid america Train & Toy Show is March 27, 2011.

Regards Bob

OK… I just got the 2011 list of Mid-America KC shows from Steve & Sherri Stich regarding dates, and all three shows are on a Sunday. 'Hope this answers all your questions… Bob

Amen to that. I have lived in KC since 1970 and have never heard much about the Mid-America show. Therefore I miss it. I do see one is scheduled for the 27th, probably can visit that one.
