Nice work, Carl!

Nice Carl, though I bet the drivers don’t car for the door by the fence [;)] I haven’t seen that building before, who makes it?

Here are 2 shots from last week, been doing railfan shots this week,

Hi There;
Here’s a couple of things I’ve been working on.
A Hobo camp has sprung up in Port Elizabeth Yard.

My latest weathering job. OK or not??

I have been experemanting with the “free” intermodal containers dthurman posted about. I know I dont have the right type of flat car for them but I think they look good on the one I have, here is a pic…

Is that N scale? Looks good, only thing you may want to try is to thin out the rust paint just a little. I had a thickness issue also and found that thinning it helps, also hitting the car with some Dullcote or a flat finish airbrushed on. Still good work [tup]

Good job Adam, I made some just a little bit ago. I need to get some paper/cardstock that folds better and get rid of that ugly fold. I am thinking of printing on some plain .005" thick styrene once and see what happens, or maybe a little thicker.

David No it is HO scale. I used a toothpick to apply white glue & then dusted on chalk. The nearest HS that has Dullcote is 250 miles away so I used some flat finish I got at WallMart. Not as flat as I would like. I might try thinning the white glue.

Looking very good guys!! [tup] Here are a couple of things I have been working on.

I added a couple of details to the front of my two P2K locos. I add a set of Details West MU hoses, and painted the grabs on top of the snow plows white on each of them. Here are the results.

I have also got most of the lane stripes put on my road. Here are a couple of pics of that.

This trucker has been the only “traffic” so far. [;)]

Try to pick up some Testors Clear Parts Cement, to thin it or even the white glue, I was told to place the container in a bowl or cup of warm to hot water, that will thinit down well, sort of like when you put syrup in the microwave when it’s been in the fridge. Dusting after glue is a very effective weathering method. I am sold on it.

Nice Pics guys i like the weathering job,Dont worry kevin you will have lots of traffic soon my frind nice job looks great!
Carl…

David; Good tip. I never thought of heatinfg the glue to thin it. I’ll try that . We are going to the Coast in 3 weeks & I will be able to get some of that Testor"s glue. Sure is frustrating being so far from a good HS I just have a problem with mail ordering a bottle of paint or some glue . Our kids live on the coast so when we go to visit I go with a shopping list. Sorry for the rant. Kind of reminds of the 50’s when you made good with what you had.
Tom

I picked up some of those HO scale athearn tractors form wal-mart today…I shook when I took the pic but you can still see what I bought…
