I posted these 2 shots on the weathering topic but it started fading into the soon to recyle routine [:o)]
I did some weathering attempts over Labor Day using artist oils and thinner to get a rusted look on the BN gondola and the RailGon.

ac4400fan, roads look sharp, I liked the photo’s of them from last week. Have to tell us how you did them.
tommyr, nice pictures [tup]

Very nice weathering job. Not overdone , looks very realistic.[bow][bow]
Hi all. Great pics! Carl, the progress is looking good, keep us posted as you go. David, very nice weathering work.
Here’s a little helper action from the Platte Canyon Sub. The rulebook allows up to eight axles behing a caboose so this single SD7 is well within the rules as it prepares to shove a Grande freight on it’s battle against gravity.

I just got a present from my aunt’s co-worker’s boy friend. A month ago he wanted to know if i needed any couplers so i said yes knuckle couplers. So i come home from the fire dept. and my mom tells me I had a bag of trains from said person and I knew what i was about. I said oh cool. I go look and I see 2 boxcars and knuckle couplers! I was suprised. This guy is awesome. I am going to write a million thank you letters. Here are some pics…
Looking good guys! Carl, I love the roads! [:D] I’ll have some “road work” to show before too long …
ok The roads i did ,my way, hehe ok on a H.O scale i used 0.15 styreen sheets (white)
then i used a gray primer spray light ,threw the middle go dark ,then i used a paint pen called painters yellow (when making the stipes use a metal ruler from a cheap t square) the pen ultra fine point. plat with it ,awhile and you will get started
P.S if you want more detail email me ill come up this a step by step for you ,if you like my consept
Carl
