Midweek photo fun part 2

For dial up users, I’ve broken up the original post into two parts:

A few views of the creamery:

The brewery complex, from left to right the grain elevator, brewery, and bottling plant:

The right most structure is a warehouse that I haven’t decided what type of business it will be but I am leaning to a school book distributor.

jecorbett,

Thanks for posting these great pictures! I have the same dairy kit (still in the box) and I’m glad to see what the finished product will look like on the layout. Looks like you’ve done a fine job on all of the buildings. [tup]

J E,

Beautiful! How did you do your backdrop? Clouds (like mine) often look so cartoonish – and yours look real. Did you paint it or is it a photo?

My technique is so simple even a cave man could do it as I have proven. I just take a can of flat white spray paint and apply it in a swirling motion. You can make the clouds as thick or as wispy as you want. Just be careful about letting paint accumulate on the nozzle or it might suddenly splatter on you which is no fun. If you think about it, a cloud is nothing more than a white mist which is what comes out of a can of spray paint. I know others like to paint elaborate cloud formations with shadows on the lower side and when done well look outstanding but this technique is so easy and accomplishes the purpose of creating hazy type clouds.
