As the originator of the Midweek photo Fun about a yr ago I’m curious if I should bring it back or if there are people who are interested in this coming back? I thought it was always nice to see what some people accomplish during the week. Maybe someone does something and wants to show everyone but doesnt want to wait till WFP… So what does everyone think should we bring it back?

I use to have a thread started that had to do with What you did but didnt need photos unless you had them. Now I thought of starting that thread up again but want to see how many members would prefer either one.
So heres how this will happen. If anyone is interestedin the Mid week photo fun type in MPF or if you want What You Did type in WYD and at the end of next week I will tally it up and see which one wins.
Perhaps we should have a continuous photo gallery thread (not replacing WPF; in addition to WPF) where folks are invited to post model railroad related photos anytime. Kind of like the popular Show Your Favorite Scene thread, only not limited to scenes. It would be a place to put pictures anytime you want, and we’d not re-start it every week, it would just run continuously.
My favorite threads are the ones with lots of pictures of other modelers work.
On some other forums, there is a weekly photo thread. Each week a new one is started. We have had several chat (beer garden, trackside diner, etc.) threads that get restarted because they became too large. I would imagine that a photo thread would also get rather large rather quickly.
On the other hand, some of our WPF threads have degenerated into a back alley brawl. We probably don’t need to drag that out for an entire week.
I like the idea of a picture gallery thread. How about we call it Trackside photos like the section in Model railroader magazine? And just either posts w/ pictures or posts about the pictures, and no serious conversations.
I’ve never really gotten into miniature photography and I don’t have a layout at the moment on which to take photographs but I do occasionally look in on WPF. Were there a weekly photo thread with identifiable dates I might check it out more frequently. It might run from, say, Friday thru the following Thursday and be labeled as WEEKLY PHOTO FUN 10/17-10/23 as a ‘for instance’; this way it won’t tend to run on to 3,846 pages as do some of these Bill’s Palace of Acid Indigestion topics. After awhile topics of that length begin to run more from perpetual motion than any degree of intelligence.
NOTE: I have even observed on some occasions where the previous WEEKEND PHOTO FUN has attracted postings as late as the following Wednesday.
