Midweek Photo Fun

Okay I’ll start this one.Well Sunday I got my layout ready for company becaues of a BBQ.

Wheres the photo? [:D][:D][%-)]

Ken.

Oh man and you didnt even invite us to the BBQ!!! Kevin

BBQ, did sombody say BBQ,[dinner][dinner][dinner]

No pics but I installed my third DS-54 and all of the associated wiring. I can now sit on my butt and run trains into and out of the westend yard as well as any where on the two line main. My next one is installing the eight Peco T/O machines in the yard itself so I can continue to sit on my butt and switch cars out in the yard. I think rather than two more DS-54’s I am going with Team digitals SRC8 and SMD8. That will give me LED T/O position and fascia mounted switches. I think I will also be using Tomars Dwarf signals to display the T/O position at the T/O. Currently on my mains I am using Tomar two light vertical signal stands to indicate T/O position. Nice to be able to see at a glance where the T/O are. Lot less derailments.

I’ll throw one in this time. This is an older one as I have not taken any layout pictures in a while.

DISCLAIMER: The picture below has a digitally added backdrop - but everything else is how it appears on my layout – in N scale:

Here is a few from the mill area of my layout

Mainline train YR-1 passes local YQ-1 next to the paper mill at Gilman, VT

Over view of the mill area

Receiving tracks at the mill

Thats all for now

…And a very fine digital backdrop it is! It makes your scene look like it came right from the Radford Div. [:D]

Nice job…you had me until I read it was a model!

Oh, no! I can see it coming! Another thread bashing the Oct MR again!

Darrell, quiet again…for now

Nice pics, digitally enhanced or otherwise!

I have been working on some scenery, trying to get a pond done right and the new lake for slurry/slag from the power plant, need to research it some more to get it right (if anyone has some pictures please let me know)

This Midweek Madness (though it is Friday) is 3 scenes from my N scale layout:

The sun was in the wrong spot when I took this shot [8D] but still nice lineup. (I did some photochopping to this, added a switchstand, the background, the lens flare effect and added dirt to the engines)

No tricks here, just a shot overlooking the main yard.

This is a shot of the power plant getting some clay? Haven’t figured out the justification but working on that, if not the yardmaster is fired!

MABruce, I am hoping to strive for the detail and scenery you have achieved with your layout. [tup]

nhguy21, nice paper mill [;)]

npr756, if you are going to mention food, you really should have enough for everyone [dinner]

scubaterry, post some pictures… [:)]

The power plant getting clay? Maybe they were making clay pots and firing them on their lunch hour??? Kevin

We have been “faking” the backdrop for YEARS, painting out own, buying those impossiblebly large “picture” backdrops. I now have the ULTIMATE in backdrops, Mother Nature, I’ve moved on out to the garden.

I’ll send an ore car for some of the potato salad, and a tank car for some of the “adult” beverage. You’ll easily identify mine when they arrive, they will be marked Rosebud Falls RR and they are “G” scale.
