Hey people,
I finally got with the railroad. I am going to be starting training Monday as a brakeman for Union Pacific in West Chicago. I can’t believe that after 17 years of waiting I actually have the career. I just hope I can pass all the tests, I will be studying my butt off I know that. I guess thats it for now, Ill try to keep posting though.
See ya for now.
Ill wave at you when your stuck waiting for me to go by in Rochelle
Ill be on that OTHER road study study study good luck see you on the high iron!
Congratuations! Hope to be seeing you soon in West Chicago. [:)] Nick
Alright! Hope to see you their, I am the black curley haird person.
AlcoRS11NUT, I hope eveything and I mean eveything goes very well for you in your career as a railroad employee. I’m pretty sure you’ll do more than fine, you’ll do great; espeacully if you love the job. God Bless
Don’t broadcast your love of Alcos! If there’s anyone you meet there who actually ran or worked with Alcos, they’re not going to remember them with the same fondness that you show by your screen name. They’ll remember them as dirty, greasy, rough riding hunks of iron that probably would pull the yard office off its foundation, if need be, but not good enough to be remembered favorably.
Other than that, good luck with learning all about your new job.
Good luck and be safe!!![8D]
G’day, AlcoRS11Nut,
Several folks mentioned being safe. That starts with forgetting that you are a TRAIN FAN until you get home and can pick up that latest copy of TRAINS. A crew person told me once that train fans seemed to die first because they were thinking about trains and not the job.
Safety First!
