Mike Wolf of MTH to demo DCS and HO in California

Put this on your calendar. Mike will be at Arnie’s Trains in Westminster CA on Thursday, July 13 from 5 to 8 PM. Address is Industrial Way 6452-B. Phone # is 714-893-1015. Come meet Mike and see his demo of DCS and information about MTH HO, O Scale 2 rail, and O gauge. [:)]

I most certainly will! I’ll make sure I am in New York that day.

Crikey!! I’ll book my air tickets now!!..NOT

Ask us if we really care.[xx(]

DNFTT…

B.Y.O.T.
Bring your own tomatoes (or eggs, jelly doughnuts, cream pies, whatever you prefer!)

I’m afraid to ask but what is DCS? Next question Did Mike sue someone to get the rights to DCS?
Sorry had to ask

Rough crowd tonight! Are the tomatoes frozen?

Well, MTHDrools, hope you and Mike have a great time! If I don’t make it just start without me… [}:)]

Sigh…it must be the weekend…AGAIN!

I’m kinda caught here between ignorance and apathy. I didn’t know Mike was going to be at Arnie’s Trains.

OTOH, I don’t care.

Then, again, if MTH decided to make a west coast loco, say an SP P-10 Pacific (both with and without the skyline shroud), I could be roused out of my apathy.

A conspiracy theorist would think this means he is thinking of sueing hobby shops and taking one over so he has at least one outlet hence his appearance to justify it.

Mike Wolf of MTH Needs to stick to his O scale stuff. the DCS won’t sell becuase of DCC and we Definatly DON"T need another K4. I’ll email you when i think MTH does rule becuase right now, Kato and Atlas Rule my layout. MTH is not welcome in my household

Be sure to supply lots of grape Koolaid

Guys, I’m still laughing so hard at some of your responses. [(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D]
I almost pity MTHRules at times. What a tenacious desire for punishment!

But at the risking of getting flamed myself…O.K, why not give him just a tiny bit of “slack” (pun intended) on this one?

He posted this thread in an “informative mode” rather than provacative. So the K4 will be demoed somwhere in California…so let it be demoed.

Meanwhile I’m looking forward to getting sound in my P2K E units…life goes on.

I’m with Antonio here and I’m glad MTHRules posted the date. While I’m not interested enough in the model to drive 1,000 miles to see it, I think it would be great to meet Mike again. Trust me, he’s not a bad guy and absolutely loves to talk trains. In fact I would go as far to say that he is probably the most knowledgable toy train guy I’ve ever spoken with.

If anyone goes, be sure to tell him Jeff from SLC says hi… [:D]

Jeff

I’d go but I’ve already seen how you can stuff 8-feet of ego into a 5-7 frame.

Having had all I want to do with MTH during my toy train three rail days in this hobby I could care less where Mike is at. I didn’t own much MTH when I was in 3 rail and sold what little I had. I sure don’t want it in HO.

So, is the original posting what you would call a “commercial advertisement” and therefore not allowed, or not? Is it a commercial or an infomercial?

Now might be a good time to re-consider the idea of whether there should be a separate forum for product announcements. We talked about this a while back, when a small business guy made a post, not knowing the rules. If the rumors are true about the forthcoming upgrade of the forum software, this would be a good time to institute something like this, at least on a trial basis.

  • Uh, I’m not glad at all that he posted this as it still fans flames. My attitude is basically…“What the heck, it’s just information”. Of course many of us here most likely are not going to benefit from it or use it. Equivelent of a sneeze.

I’d rather meet the “good guys” of this hobby like:

Andy Sperandeo, Keith Guitierrez, Warren Calloway, Jim Sixx, Rick Abramson, Tony Koester, Bruce Chubb, Terry Thompson, Phil Walthers, Chuck Hitchcock, Dean Freytag, the owners of Soundtraxx…these are people that, IMHO, have made “priceless” contributions that have helped this hobby advance in the HO and/or N scale arenas.[:D][4:-)]

No offense, but meeting Mr. Wolf is not on my “Yipee Yahooey howdy!” list. Sad to say that even the dedicated “Pennsy” railroad friends at my club want nothing to do with anyting MTH related. [V]

  • Hmmmm. I guess I’ve been fortunate that I’ve spoken with “a good number” of very-very knowledgeable humble and “down-to-earth” train guys that left me with a lasting “positive” impression. My closest friend is one of t

I don’t see this as an advertisement. I think it’s good when someone posts this sort of information. Mike Wolf is a significant industry figure and not your average run-of-the-mill factory employee…so his presence is something worthy of note although I would never waste my time going to see him.
