Miller Engineering Neon Signs
I will definitely need to check out the web site.
I’ve got a couple of their signs:The DrPepper sign and their limited edition Drive In Movie Sign.
I like them both.
I’m planning on having a Drive In Theater on my HO Scale Late 50’s MP/Katy Themed Layout:I’ve got a 7"Portable DVD Player
and Light Works USA DRive In Sign,so I need to get the Blair Line Drive In Movie Kit for the Fence and Ticket Booth and find some building to serve as a Snack Bar.
Note to Light Works USA:Make a Walgreen’s Sign soon!!!
I have bought signs from these guys for years now. They simply are the most unique signs on the market. They look beautiful and they work flawlessly. I also like that they have sought to recreate actual signs from companies that are either in business or have been lost to history. I cannot recommend these guys enough. My only comment for future development is that I wish they would figure out a way to make the billboard lattice work open but that is the only fault I can find with them from a modeling perspective and it is a minor one. Great work to Chris and his crew.
I have purchased a few for our club layouy. I have messed up on some of these signs and Chris Miller has always come to my aid.
I have three of these Miller Engineering signs on my n scale railroad. They have brought the layout to “life” and with that magic button I can add variety to the displays and alter their sequence.
I saw them recently at the Springfield, Mass. show and was impressed. I recently read that they are or will be producing a Flying Pegasus, Mobil sign which is one that I intend to use, My layout is HO scale 1950’s in New Hampshire. The sign should fit beautifully.
I have several of their signs on my HO layout. I have the Maxwell House billboard and several store front signs. They add
that touch of realism to the layout. I even have the flashing
Diner billbard ou in front the Diner. A note they are very easy
to install.
Definitely gonna buy some for my layout! WOW!!
I agree with all the other webposters! Miller signs are fantastic! I recently purchased his “PABST BLUE RIBBON BEER” sign and it looks like a miniaturized version of the real giant neon sign that existed in the past! I intend on building a tall plastic and metal support scaffold with lots of cross bracing on it to mount the sign so as to look as real as possible. We can all help Chris by submitting photos, drawings etc. along with written descriptions of large neon signs that we’ve remembered seeing as children or of signs that still exist today in any large American city! That should keep Chris busy making more neons well into the future!
As an N scaler, sometimes your choices are limited. Not so with the Miller sign line. They add a huge degree of realism to any city or town scene, are really reasonable in cost for what they do, and are easy to work with.
Chris provides GREAT customer service, as well as answer questions about their products very quickly!
Best thing is that the signs in operation look like the ads - something that doesn’t always happen. High quality, reasonable prices, and good service - what more is there to ask?!
I’ve been trying to build an animated sign of my wifes real estate company for a couple of months now. I have bought 3 of their experimental kits and have managed to destroy 2 of them all on my own. Certainaly not Miller’s fault. I think I am close to having a working model. I have a couple of their simpler signs, Cafe and Diner, that’s what prompted me to try the RE sign. It is just amazing what we can do in this hobby now. If, no, when I complete the RE sign I will have to post a link to it…
Four Miller Engineering signs plus one of their experimenter’s packs arrived in the mail today. Dennis Murphy’s review convinced me I needed some. They’re brilliant! Like all the other reviewers I can’t fault them, and they live up to all my expectations. As William C Toth says- great customer service from Chris too.
We too have a number of Miller signs for our layout, wow what a presentation they make. Everything appears so real. We too have had some gliches in putting them in out layouts but Chris has been absolutely WONDERFUL. This company really knows what service is all about and I am sure they will grow to be giants in the industry. Please keep making more signs also with various decal picks.
I have ordered several signs and None of them came with the back supports. But otherwise these signs are fabulous…
I just love these signs I have oh so many of them! Just wondering if they are working on something where you can personalize the signs to fit your needs. Maybe some peel and stick type of letters so we personalize the signs more.
