Please bear with me this is multiple long question. I have the famous Walthers Red Wing flour mill. Looking at the mill there is train and a truck loading dock. I’m assuming these docks are for loading a finished product. If that is the case, where would the unfinished product be loaded in the mill. I purchased Rix grain bins with the elevator and can’t figure where to load the mill with the grain, and i’m not sure where the elevator pipes would go. And to top things off I thinking about adding the Walthers grain elevator (#933-3096) to tie it all in together. Could someone please explain the grain / mill operation and how to tie in all the pipes, elevators and bins, and can I load and unload trains and trucks? I tried to reasearch this on the net and got more confused. Thank you in advance.
Mills, both flour/feed would have an adjacent elevator that would have its own unloading infrastructure and conveyance system to the mill. Id stay away from the Rix bins as all the domestic mills I’ve seen have concrete silos.
There are mills with steel bins.
