Milwalkee Racine and Troy

I have seen multiple pictures of the MR&T but most off them are in detailing articles and such. Have they ever done an articleabout the MR&T, ay trackside photos? and do you think MR&T also stand for Modle railroader and Trains (magazines)

THANKS[:)]

As far as I know, yes, the name is a play off of MRR and Trains. One of the Dream, Plan, Build subscription videos has a tour of the layout. I have been intrigued by the MRT since seeing it on the cover of an issue fron 1985(I was around 9 then) That cover shot is what got me interested in the hobby. I also need to scoop up one of those Athearn sd40-2 in MRT paint.

Trust me videos and pictures do not I mean it do not do it justice. I have taken a tour of Kalmbach great people friendly and educational tour but I saw the turtle creek in progree and I saw the MR&T layout and oh wow I wanted to run trains. Tehy are doing an awsome job on the layout. I didnt get to meet anyone but the tour guide who I believed worked in the other model magazine they put out. But I saw man people. If your ever in WI stop by at the office and take a tour you wont forget it.

They should make a book…or something. The roster looks awesom. Although photos of the MR&T are quite common in certain articles.what do you mean a subscriber video? oh and Milwhiawatha, did you see any trains, running. Did they actually let you see the layout?[:)] I (being one myself) love famouse freelanced layouts, and try to learn as much as possible.

This discussion brings to mind an image…

A brightly lit modern office at the height of the business day, row upon row of empty cubicles, and at the entrance to each and every cublicle there is posted a hand-lettered sign:

IF YOU NEED ME, I’M IN THE LAYOUT ROOM.

I’ve been wondering about MR&T meaning Model Railroader & Trains for a few months

Nobody was running the layout and they wouldnt let me run anything on it but I saw it and its just amazing. its basically on a continous incline but its not steep. I wish I would have taken a photo back then but oh well.

I seem to remember reading somewhere (possibly in MR) that that is exactly why those initials were chosen for the “company” pike.

Before they left their old office location, MR did a layout tour of the old MR&T and also offered up a view of what they new layout would look like. As far as I know, they have never done a layout tour based on the new layout.

I would say such an article is long over due! (hint, hint!)

Maybe they are so busy touring other peole’s layouts and trying to tell YOU how to run YOURS([:D]) that they can’t find the time to take a few photos of theirs and compress them into an article. B ut, then again, there is no shortage of pictures in other articles.
