Hello,
found out that Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg Germany has competition. This layout is in Berlin and is called LOXX. Their web site is http://loxx-berlin.de/ . If you look on youtube go here http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=loxx&aq=f . I already know of two destinations that will be on the agenda next spring when I return for a visit to Germany.

And there is Modellbundesbahn at Bad Driburg and certainly many more, not so well known but nicely done public layouts.
Loxx in Berlin is concentrating on typical Berlin scenes and while still nicely done, it is a far cry from Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg, in terms of atmosphere, detail and size.
The Railroad was cool but what took the cake in my opinion was the comercial plane taxing down the runway at night then ZOOM up-up in the sky. [Y]
Be nice if they could hide that ramp going up in the air.

I must agree with Sir Madog about “Miniatur Wunderland” being #1 in size and atmosphere.

I plan a visit to MiWuLa next year as I just HAVE to see their new Airport!
BTW, have you followed their Advent calendar?
Wow!!! that was stunning! Very real. I really liked the airport and the concert in the park scenes.
Their Gerhard Dauscher and Cody G should get together on a project!
