How about a map for those not from the area?
The latest proposal also calls for added freight rail safety recommendations included in the TranSystems Freight Rail Report. Will these recommendations impair on TCWR’s ability to provide rail service per their common carrier obligations?
These negotiations are so fluid that it is difficult to show one route map. The best maps are at the Metropolitan Council web site. http://metrocouncil.org/Transportation/Projects/Current-Projects/Southwest-LRT/Route.aspx. Each city has objections to every proposed route but they have now discovered that they can be bribed by demanding Federal money from the project. That money will rebuild streets, sidewalks, parks, and just about anything that is a few miles of the line. Once each city gets enough bribery, they will approve just about any route.
If my memory serves me, much of that route was once an interurban type line in much earlier times.
