Significant thing here is the woman driving the truck did everything right. And then somebody hit her from behind and pushed her into the train. And the guy who hit her was charged with DUI. No serious injuries, but it could have been a whole lot worse!
That’s why I always turn on my 4 way flashers when I’m stopped at a crossing, at least until somebody is behind me. Besides the drunks, there’s way too many distracted drivers.

Possibly a little’overkill’, but you can’t argue with success. Just north of town yesterday, a 22 year old man rear ended a FedEx local delivery truck (a large’stepvan’) at an intersection, while the van driver was waitng to make a left turn. According to KAKE’s website the automobile driver was distracted while attempting to operate an I-Pod or cell phone, or both. The 22 year old driver failed to do anthing about stopping or stearing away, and rear-ended the truck at Highway speed ( 60 mph).
