Where can one get front-silvered mirrors (or whatever they are called) to make the kind of reflecting areas John Allen did? Edmunds seems to be a purveyor of school project kits now.
Since you live “just outside Atlanta”, there must be a dozen or more glass & mirror shops in your phone book (that thing we used before the “net”). A few phone calls should find a shop that will special order it for you, and also cut it to size. Cutting any kind of mirror is almost an art - at least it is to me - so let the pro do it for you. If he breaks it it’s his problem - not yours!! [:O]
The Edmonds Scientific site calls them first surface mirrors. I put that in Google and came up with the following site: http://www.firstsurfacemirrors.com/glassfirstsurfacemirrors.htm

I think that is what they are called. Edmonds Scientific used to carry a couple of sizes too.
Try Edmund Optics, they seem to have moved all their opticas to this area. They have some first surface listed on the web.
