As a kid when I read MR seem to recall a lot of layouts using mirrors to make the scene look bigger. Does anyone do that anymore? My last layout had a mirror in the yard, but I didn’t do a good job concealing it and it stuck out like a sore thumb. Since my “Railroad Room” is only 10 x 9 feet I’m planning on using a couple of them on my next layout.
Ive used one. The trick i used is i have a mountain by the wall and a mirror on the wall. When you look behind the mountain you see the mirror which reflects the backside of the mountain. There is a completely different scene on the back of the mountain so it looks like a whole new mountain
I think of the scene of “Port” on the old John Allen layout from long ago that used a mirror to extend the apparent space of the facility.
Mirriors can be very effective if used “just so”
