Missouri and North Arkansas Railroad (Steam Era)

Anyone out there modeling, or have information on, the Missouri and North Arkansas (later Missouri and Arkansas RR) in tne 1940-1950 era. I believe it folded in 1949. It ran from Joplin, MO to Neosho,MO on the KCS by trackage rights, then southeast on its own rails to Helana, AR.

The Missouri & North Arkansas Ry. Co. ceased operations in 1935. Its assets were acquired by the Missouri & Arkansas Ry Co. at a foreclosure sale. The M. & N. A. Ry. Co. was originally incorporated in 1922 as successor the the M. & N. A. RR.

The Missouri & Arkansas Ry. Co. ran until 1946. It did not operate in 1947 or 1948. The ICC authorized abandonment of the line on August 11, 1948 unless a purchaser came forward.

All data from Moody’s Steam Railroads 1949. [:)]

Doug: Drop me a line. My email is in my profile. There is more data in Moody’s. Moody’s is an investor service and it contains railroad information as reported to the ICC, etc. What is confusing about your subject is that there were many corporate name changes for the same piece of track.
