Ok so you know you have 2 airbrushes and you spend 2 frantic weeks looking all over your apartment for 1 of them. Well you finnaly give up, then this weekend while your at your moms house looking for your 2004 taxes because your meeting with a mortguage broker this evening, you find the second airbrush in a box in the spare room. No where close to any modeling supplies.
Now here is the kicker, All the fittings and hose adapater and propellent are with your hobby supplies at the apartment where the brush should be. You have got to love it when your mom helps you pack to move out on your own…
Well I now have both brushes at home, and will be dissasembling them to do a major cleaning and overhaul before using them again. Plus I have to wait another 2 weeks to get my new braided hose for the Badger 350, which has become the genral purpose gun, as a birthday present to my self. The Badger is great for broad coverage but not much else. For weathering, detail, and Laqure I have a Passche VL, It is a great brush and I love it. I am also in the market for an Iwata gravity feed with a 1 once color cup for even finer detail and automotive work. Any way enough rambling that was what I have been up to the last couple weeks.
Curt
Curt,
Glad you found your airbrush.
I have a Paasche VL that I’ve had almost 20 years. It’s been a great sprayer, and has taken quite a bit of punishment ( I’ve dropped it several times…once on concrete!) however I’m getting ready to purchase a new Badger unit. I’ve been torn between the 150 and 200, but I think I’ll be going with the dual action unit as that’s what I’ve been accustomed to all these years. Plus I like the flexibility that the dual action offers.
Curt you think you had it bad.
I lost my airbrush tip after cleaning it. Now this was back in March of this last year. Well since I couldnt find it I went out and got a badger 155 Anthem Dual action.
Yesterday I went down to the basement and decided I want to put ditch lgihts on an Athearn BB AC4400 I have had for awhile and that I custom painted. well low and behold in the parts bag I found the nozzle… I spent 4 months looking for it before I bought the Athem and now i found it in the box of the last locomotive I sprayed before I lost the nozzle how ironic huh. Well now atleast I have two Dual action airbrushes and a single action…
Happy Airbrushing to all , and to all a good day.
An airbrush is something only a mother could love…Are you sure she wasn’t using it after you moved out?..chuck
