Mix & Match Structures

Has anyone Mixed Plasticville, K-Lineville and Lionelville stuctures on their layouts? (Buildings, Houses, Telephone Poles, Anything) As always, many thanks.

I haven’t done it personally, but my friend in Pittsburgh has done this. He uses the Lionelville buildings in the foreground, and he has the plasticville airport structures in the background (they are a bit small) on one leg of his L. Looks very nice together.

Heck, yeah! Our layout has Lionel, Plasticville and K-Line structures on it and they all look great together! Most of them were given to us by someone my wife works with, so I originally used them out of gratitude. But after painting them and seeing them together, I kept them. They go great with our 027 toy trains.

Lionel made a structure kit depicting a stone building a while back. I’d like to get one and replace the Plasticville diner with it. Just to freshen up the look of our layout.

I have Plasticville, Lionel, MTH, OGR, Walthers, Weaver and several brands of ceramic buildings on my layout. Don’t have any K-line that I can think of. No reason not to mix them unless you are into strict scale scenery.

Thanks guys… I’ve received a number of different brands over the past year from well-intentioned friends and have been reluctant to use them (a phobia left over from my finicky HO days) but, a new year and a new adventure…Appreciate the responses.

TD, the thing I like about O as opposed to the other gauges like HO is that anything goes in O. I’ve seen awesome layouts with ceramic building, Plasticville structures, even tinplate layouts with their minimalist grean tabletops are wonderful and appreciated by all. What ever makes the layout builder happy is all that counts. [;)]

Thanks Jim.
