MM not Inches

So I came across some figures (54mm, 75mm, 80mm) in a book that look great for the RR but not to sure about what would be a normal hight? Now I DON’T want to start a sizing match like we have had before. I just want a round about MM size figure that is all.

Just divide mm by 25 and that will give you a close number in inches (its mm / 25.4 = inches to be exact). I like figures in the 2.5 to 3 inch range for my railroad using about 1:24 scale. For 1:20.3 - 3 to 3.5 inches is about right.

Gotcha…that was the info I needed! Thanks…did I tell you I failed math [D)]

Toad –

1:20.3— 15mm to the foot

.591"= 1 scale foot

1:22.5 — 13.3mm to the foot

.533"= 1 scale foot

1:24—12.5mm to the foot

.5"= 1 scale foot

1:29 – 10.3mm to the foot

.414" = 1 scale foot

The math is 12" divided by your scale (20.3, 22.5, 24, 29,etc.) times 25

12/20.3=.591*25=14.9 (rounded to 15)

You didn’t fail math. Math failed you; rather your math teacher. A lot of people learn differently.

Yeah I mostly learn OTJ
