model # for 1934 american flyer?

Maybe you have a vintage catalog, or know offhand the model number for this specific train. I am trying to buy it somewhere but don’t know if 3006? is the number. Not an avid collector obviously, but my grandfather keeps bugging me. Thanks, grandaughter.

#3006

Four wheel car Cataloged 1933-35. The car has a black frame with brass journals and a single brake wheel. The wood load intially consisted of individual pieces of lumber again held in place with retaining wires. Later versions had a single piece of wood cut to simulate a wood load.

The picture that you are showing is of the 3006 Log car that was cataloged from 1933-1935. The car does not have the number on it anywhere. The car is 6.5 inches long, but American Flyer also used the same number for a 9.5 inch long log car that they marketed in the 1920’s.

There is an example of this car currently for sale on Ebay, but it lacks the wood load and tie downs.
