Model gluing

This may sound silly but what is the best glue to use on Plasticville buildings? [:^)]

I have not built any models in over 47 years till yesterday when I assembled a Plasticville log cabin. Yesterday as 47 years as Testors model glue is a pain to work with. [+o(] I have a hot glue low heat gun and some sticks of glue for it. I nave never used it on plastic but I am thinking it may be an option to use building the Hobo Jungle. [*-)] [%-)]

What do you guys and gals use?

Tks,

Kev.

Don’t glue them, they are designed to stay together without glue.

What about Walther’s Goo?

Mark

I prefer the thick Gorilla brand of instant glue…better control…excellent bonding.

Ditto.

Not so with these SJ. They will not stay together without glue. Trust me I tried. Rember these say made in China on the box. [(-D]

I still use Testors but it isn’t as good as it was before glue sniffers got ahold of it.

Use the liquid plastic cements like Testors, Ambroid Pro-Weld etc. You simply brush the glue on the inside corners and capillary action sucks it into the joints. No muss, no fuss!

Since these are modern Chinese retreads rather than original collectible Plasticville, I’d second the suggestion to use Walther’s Goo. It’ll hold them together, but as long as you don’t overdo it, it’ll still be possible to disassemble them in the future, should you so desire.

Well ok if they won’t stay together: I like tube glue for large piece’s. Liquid for small hard to hold parts.

I use fun tack. Just put a little on the joint and holds it together. You can also remove it easily to take the buildings apart should you need to.

A couple dabs with a hot glue gun will hold everything together…and no set-up time. Plus, not to hard to peel off later.

Thanks guys,

I did use the hot glue on the Hobo Buildings and it worked fine.
