Model Power Crossing Signals

I just purchased some Model Power 1681 Crossing Signals with pre-wired two way switch and I need to know how to make both sides of the cross-arm flash at once. When I hook the pre-wired switch to a power supply one side of the switch lights one side of the signal and the other side lights the other, both with a steady light. There were no instructions with the signals but there has to be a way to hook them up so both lights flash at once.

Can anyone help me.

Thanks for all the good information, especially the reply from ironpenguin (I just ordered one of your crossing flashers).

Hi,

It’s a little unclear what you’re asking. The lights on XG’s flash alternately, not at the same time. The switch with the MP ones allow you to do that manually.

If you really want them to flash at the same time, you could rewire the switch. I don’t have one in front of me, but from memory I’d say you just disconnect the wire going into one side and reconnect it to the other so that both wires are on the same pole of the switch. The brown wire (IIRC) is the common ground and should stay where it is.

The board I sell flashes them alternately, but you could easily wire them to flash at the same time. If that’s what you want to do, email me after you get it and I’ll explain how.
