Any good? How is the body on this loco? I can always repower it to make it run smoother and quieter, but I need a good looking shell on the outside. Paint doesn’t matter a whole lot, because I’ll be repainting it anyway.
Thanks y’all,
Greg

I owned one a few months ago just sold it on ebay. It ran very well and was smooth and quiet, much better than an Athearn Blue box. The body was made well enough, it’s just not a bad peice of equipment at all. You should be able to pick one up for a fair price.
The Model Power GP9M is NOT a very good buy…IF you want a GP9M then go with Walthers.Better still buy a Athearn GP7 for the best value.
Model Power is pretty good at messing up whatever they sell.
I haven’t had one Model Power locomotive in my life(THANKFULLY) but I hear they’re pretty bad.
I agree with Brakie. I have a Walthers GP9M and it’s a nilittle engine. Great value. Not overly detailed, but solid.

[#ditto]Roger that.
I don’t think Model Power makes anything that is decent as. They do make some very nice looking HO scale cars though, I’ve got a ton of them. Vipers, Trans Am’s, Mini’s, etc.
