Happy Mothers Day! Yesterday I went to Hobby Lobby to get some turn outs, there was a Model Power F7 on sale for $59.00. It is DCC ready, all wheel drive, all wheel pick-up,with flywheels, and a metel body. It is quite heaver than any of my other locos, and pulls 18 cars up a 2.5% grade very smooth. I was wondering if it is going to be worth putting in the decoders when I go to DCC? My HO track is almost all laid, and am running a 12 ga. solid bus wire & 20 ga. feeders. Did I get taken bu buying a DCC ready “Model Power”?

Well this comes as no suprise to me as I have always liked the quality, power, and longevity of Model Power’s trains. Personally, I think it makes them all the better.
I’ve heard the Model Power metal F7s are very good engines, so it should be worth putting a decoder in.[:D]
I’ve had several standard DC model power diesel locos and all worked quite well. I had to add a little wieght to them to get a good pull. If it has a metal body, you should have no problem out of it. They can be a little picky if your track is a bit dirty, though. But that’s true of almost all locos. I don’t care for thier steam locos much. They look like toys.
