Model Power Set found in a friends closet

Can anybody tell me anything about this set?

The painting on the box is more interesting than the contents. There is absolutely nothing presidential about it.

Basic older train set. Note the horn couplers as well. If you’re thinking of buying it I’d re-consider. Not worth much.

It appears in Model Power’s 1995 catalog of train sets. (see http://hoseeker.net/modelpower/modelpowercatalogchristmas1993pg09.jpg)

Southern Pacific was one of several road names.

HO doesn’t have much of a collectors’s market and I have never heard of anybody collecting Model Power. So I doubt this has much collector value But it does appear to be in good condition with the original box, so it’s possible someone might be interested in it. Model Power trains are generally considered to be low quality, so a hobbyist probably won’t be very interested…

Enjoy

I would put it back in your friends closet.[B]

I’ll second that. I had 2 of those loco’s. The motors burnt up in both of them [sigh]. Glad I didn’t pay much for them.
