The Madison County Historical Society, Inc is has announced the Model Railroad Museum in the basement of their Center at 15 W 11th Street in Anderson IN. The museum began in 2005 as an exhibit in the center, and then gradually was expanded to fill two rooms in the basement. It is a work in progress continuing to grow. Almost everything but the circus layout has been built or is being built by the volunteers at the center.
It is open for visitors from 9 to 4 Monday, Wednesday and Friday and a page on Facebook has just been started to let everyone know what we have and where we are going.
Ok, Just wondered as I also notice some Railroad Logo’s being used as avatar’s and model manufacturers have to pay for that right of use of the logo. Doug
No not an arm chair lawyer, Just a Photographer who has had some of his copyrighted images stolen but it seems the way of the times now. Anyway I just thought I would ask. Not trying to rub anyone the wrong way or be funny. Doug
As you wish. I have changed my Avatar. I don’t want to create any problems either. The idea was to support the NMRA through use of the Avatar. I do support them at the museum and I am a member.
I don’t think logs can be copyrighted, just trademarked. Either way, I think fair use does apply. My writing is under copyright, but people can use small parts of it with attribution and generally not for profit. Logos sort of attribute themselves. Of course, YMMV.
On another forum their strict about your avatar being a recognizable picture of you. Not a picture of you in a loco cab where the picture of you is so small you cant tell who it is for example. I think its a good idea as you get somewhat of a idea of the people on the forum.
