Model Railroad Planning 2011 online extras
The “Easements calculator and extra tables” is not working. To be clear about it. When you cleck on it I get an error message that says it can not be found.

Flex track works out it’s own easements if you let it.

Make sure that you have Adobe reader installed to see the tables and other online extras. For the easements calculator to work, you’ll need Excel.

I agree with Kevin, flex track works wonders as far as easements, and Atlas seems to be the brand to go with for N scale.
Also, what would be appropriate places for tight track clearence as far as a shortline railroad?
Can you provide the overall dimensions or scale for Linn Westcott’s classic Switchman’s Nightmare track plan for HO? If they are listed somewhere, I have missed them.

Switchman’s Nightmare is 16"x72". Published in 101 Track Plans. For us spatially impaired modellers, here is a great site created by the late Carl Arendt. This page contains several small layouts including the Nightmare.
