Model Railroader magazine's 2010 Layout "Progress"

I especially enjoyed seeing David Popp’s Naugatauk, CT layout. We visited and rode on the remains of the New Haven which is now a museum outside of Waterbury. We’re planning to visit and ride again this year. Thanks David for displaying your layout.

Very nice pictures. I really enjoyed seeing them. Hope to see more in the future.

Very nice railroads guys. Thank you for sharing them with all of us. I only live a couple miles from the Depot Restaurant and built a model of the station. Maybe some of those driving to or from the NMRA convention this summer can have a meal there; it is just two miles off I-94, lots of good food and a gorgous preserved building. Thanks again.

I just want to say that I have been away from model railroading since I was a kid and am so excited and anxious to get back into it. I’m driving my wife crazy talking about it. Interesting tour, thanks.

I’m a New Haven fan and I’m proud of David’s selection of the Naugatuck branch. I was born in Waterbury Connecticut and my father worked on this branch before his death in 1955. So you can see my great pleasure in this layout. Thanks.

You picked an interesting starting point for your tour. Any time I am in Oconomowoc for business I make it a point to stop in to enjoy the station. My Luck never a train when I am at the station. I have not had the opportunity to meet any of the local modelers or to stop at your office. Maybe my next trip up I will get lucky.

I love David Popp’s N-scale New Haven layout, and since I model the New Haven I am always stealing ideas from it…that’s what it takes to get my modeling juices flowing, a look at what he’s done and then I feel like maybe I can do it too…have been a buyer of Model Railroader since I was a kid…and I am no longer a kid, but still love to see what people can do with a fun bobby like model railroading…the imagination and the creativity is amazing…

Awesome layouts!!! I hope that mine is nearly as good as there’s someday. Keep up the amazing work!!

Good to see Andy out and doing well. Getting to to operations in a big way and reading Andy’s articles have been great help.

Cody,
Doesn’t Neil turn the heat on in the layout room ?
You are bundled up like you were outside in a Milwaukee December…

There is some great work done in these layouts. I am in the process of "finishing my layout, which I have “finished” several times in the past year. I retired in Oct 2007 and we a house and did not finish the basement so I could construct my train layout. I now have about 35 feet around the basement and 4 feet out from the walls completed. These articles give me some more ideas that I can add another 8 feet to it.

Thank you guys for sharing pics of the layouts. I always love to see other people’s layouts to get better ideas for my own. Keep up with the great jobs.

Hi Cody,
did you ever try crèpe with Nutella? delicous…
regards
Andy
