Cycling season is over and I am back on my treadmill for the winter and in desparate need of entertaining videos to watch while I exercise. I am interested in any recommendations for videos to watch involving model railroading. Is there a good multi-DVD series on model railroading that I could watch that would be entertaining and informative about various techniques.
I also welcome any recommendations about old movie about trains or in which trains play a role.
Lastly, are there any good videos regarding the Milwaukee Road?
Please help save me from boredom on the treadmill. Thanks.
Joe Fugate’s “Siskiyou Line” series is the best $100 that I have spent on model railroad DVDs. Get started with the MR "Dream-Plan-Build ongoing series from Kalmbach publishers. At $24.50/month, it makes for wonderful monthly videos to look foreward to. They also have many special issues on railroad topics. Bob Hahn
Pentrax and Good Hear videos are a few I like for rail-fan action but for my money there is only one choice for model railroading videos Allen Keller’s Great Model Railroad series Kinda pricey but great stuff.
Oh yeah by the way what the heck is a treadmill? is that the thing my wife hangs all her cloths on and is magically suppose to make her loose weight and stay in shape? Hint! they don’t work get your money back and spend it on trains.
I want to thank you for recommending the Fugate “Siskiyou Line” videos. I have watched the first one and the time just flew by on the treadmill. Exactly what I wanted, I get to learn more about model railroading and exercise at the same time.
I also want to thank you other chaps for your other recommendations. I will be checking them out.
Lastly, I just ordered the issue from Trains in which they list railroad related movies to watch. This should give me a lot of good ideas.
