MODEL TRAIN WEATHERING FORUM... why now private

i have been looking at the model trains website for quite a while it is now private and invitation only… 1…can anyone tell me the reason for this

2… is there another web site that teaches you how to paint / weather models so that they look a little bit more realistic … thanks peter

I am a member of MTW, and I think its due to…You have to have thick skin, respectful toward each other, and just be STRAIGHT UP HONEST.

Some website sites say “ahh your car looks good”, but then it might be 1 out of 5 stars.

Its a website to get you to that next step. To make it a 5 out of 5 stars!!

couldn’t of said it better myself. I’m getting some great feedback on my weathered hoppers, now if only I could get the dern sealer to do what’s been suggested!

EDIT: now seems that I can’t log onto the site, lol.

I think the bogus thing about that site isn’t the “need a thick skin” thing. Now they don’t even want you looking at what people are doing and learn anything unless your “special”. Oh…You can “donate” or “advertise” or look at rich’s finished models, but NO LOOKING AT THE FORUM!

Thanks, but no thanks…I’ll pass…Too many other sites that have friendly members who are just as talented.

Hi Peter! Have you checked Diesel Detailer?

A lot of people make a lot of money hustling weathered cars on ebay and at shows. Why would they want their techniques displayed for the world to mooch off of?

Why is a forum from another website being discussed on the Model Railroader forum?
