In the '50s Kalmbach published a magazine called “Model Trains” that was, I guess, considered less complicated than MR. The magazine stopped in the early '60s I think. I am wondering if there is an index of old issues someplace. Searching for “Model Trains” is hopeless as the search term is too generic. Specifically I am looking for an structure article for a building I made out of shirt cardboard for my Lionel set in the late 50s. I am not even sure how to describe it. Feed Mill store/Hardware store?? just can’t quite pull it out of the memory banks after all these years. It did have a lot of character and the article included printed signs in color for the building. The plans were not in MR (i don’t think) as Santa Claus brought me the complete MR set on DVD and I have looked at every 195x issue and don’t see it. If I could find the MT index I think it might trigger the name. Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Sorry I can’t help you with that article, but I want you to know I also remember Model Trains fondly.
It was the push I needed to get started on my first model railroad. It was a great magazine for a young fellow of about 10 years old. And it cemented me into the hobby that I am still a part of 60 years later.
They also had a column that you could write to and leave hints. I remember I wrote in one time and my hint got printed and I believe Kalmbach sent me $5.00 for the use of it. I can remember how pumped I was over that. [swg]
Not an index per se, but you can see the cover of each issue and the table of contents. You can also use the “Advanced Search” of the magazine index to search specifically those magazines.
