Modeler’s spotlight video for December 17, 2009 – Inside Cody’s Office
How to wrap a train was a little basic. Most readers/viewers have probably figured out how to do that. I would have liked more close-up information on the gas station kits, especially the N scale version.
Cody,
If the Kalmbach thing doesn’t work out for you perhaps a career in the gift wrapping department of your local department store would be more profitable.
Merry Christmas.
How are freight trains named and what do their names mean?
Well and the wife and I are wondering when he will do some weathering on that package! Merry Christmas to all and a safe and prosperous New Year

I always look forward to this feature of the newsletter. Wish you could find another video medium as it takes so long for what appears to be You Tube to load.
Cody, it is always fun to receive the email with your feature. Would it be possible in the product review to give us prototype information for engines and rolling stock along with in-service dates (as appropriate) so that our railroads reflect the era we are hoping to model? Thanks, Dan
At least the corporate gift exchange at Model Railroader is a guarantee that everyone should get something they like! A very Merry Christmas to everyone at MR and I look forward to more model railroading fun soon!
Cody,
As a fellow Mac user, I appeal to you to persuade the powers-that-be to obtain the services of a person or persons who knows how to make pdf/videos that are playable on Macs. After all, the other MR videos are playable-why not the downloadables? This is the 21st century!

I agree. A lump of coal would make a useful model railroading gift. That stuff isn’t all that easy to find these days unless you work for a power plant.
Have a Merry Christmas every one and thank you for watching our show!

Come on over Christmas eve, Cody. We’ll wrap together, or rather I’ll watch you wrap since I’m terrible at it.
Good show, as usual.
So if we send our gifts to Cody for gift wrapping, how long before he will ship back to us wrapped?
I feel a lot better about my wrapping attempts now. I thought It was incorrect when I cut off the too long paper ends and cut the paper too big to begin with! My wife needs to see this video.
I thought the gift would be from Cody to David (the man behind the camera) for doing your show last week. I guess he got a lump of coal.
I don’t think Martha Stewart has any thing to worry about.
Stick with tips relating to model railroading
Keep up the good work
Cody, you have many great ideas but your technique for gift wrapping would put me in the poor house rather quickly with the gross waste of paper. Other than that, another interesting show.
Cody, you take too long to wrap a package.
Cody,
Nice to have you back. Are you / Could you do another Xmas special like last year?
Have a very Merry Christmas
1’ ft of snow…here in FL it was 76 and partly sunny today.
Miss not having basement layouts to visit. But don’t miss the snow.
Merry Xmas to y’all…u awl

I like your idea of giving a lump of coal to a modelrailroader, even know the one I’m going to give it to. Just to make sure the idea was a solid one, I inserted a piece of burning coal into a G-scale toy locomotive fire box and waited. Unfortunately to toy was ruined before the water tank could heat up (no steam , no movement)
