Happy 50th Cody. How about making longer segments. And more how to’s , you and the staff do great job. Also how about listing the 1st 5 installments of Cody’s Office

A fantastic year of videos. Looking forward to the coming year!!

I assume that you and your marketing folks look around to see what other magazines are doing. Your style and informality is being emulated in other hobbies. Emulated, but not equaled.

Good luck and happy anniversary! What? No cake from Mrs. Popp’s kitchen??

Happy 50th episode, Cody. I’m proud of you for sticking to your roots and sharing the BN covered hopper. (Nice out-take at the end, too!) - Bergie

Happy 50th Show Cody. I’ve watched every one of those 50 shows and they have been enjoyable. The problem is that I can’t find one that hasn’t had something useful in it. I especially like the ones where you do something model related.

I would like to thank you and David and everyone else involved with making this past year one of the most enjoyable I’ve had. To bad the previous 59 weren’t this much fun.

I look forward to seeing Cody’s Office every week and when there isn’t one, the week is somehow emptier.

Keep up the good work.

Irv

Congratulations! It is nice to virtually visit your office from abroad.

Hi Cody,
Happy 50th Anniversary! I’ve watched every episode of Cody’s Office and have enjoyed every one! I find that your modeling tips are very informative and will be helpful.
I have a question pertaining to N scale curves. What radius curves would be realistic for a Mikado, Berkshire and, EMD SD70MAC Thru SD90? I haven’t started my layout yet. I want to gather as much expert information as I can before starting.
Thanks,
Jim

Congrats on #50 looking forward to #100!!

Cody and David,

Congratulations on your making it to 50 episodes! I always enjoy your shows.

Regarding Greg Cochenet’s question about the SD45 flared radiator grills, I think they were flared because the radiators (which were mounted horizontally below the roof) were wider than the width of the roof, thus the radiator cooling-air intakes (the flared grills) had to be canted outward to accommodate the extra width.

While most EMD locomotives have 12- or 16-cylinder engines, the SD45 had a 20-cylinder engine, which required more cooling capacity, and thus larger (wider) radiators.

As Greg pointed out, many newer locomotives are sporting wider radiators which extend beyond the width of the hood. I’m sure this is for the same reason: more cooling capacity.

You folks keep up the great work,

Nice job with the props. They tend to deflate in cold weather. The gas probably came from Texas. The largest deposit in the world is in the panhandle near Amarillo.

Cody:
Last Sunday, David Popp gave a presentation to 2 combined groups of NMRA Divisions. It was the program that deals with the ‘behind the scenes’ at MR. He was very complimentary of you and your “Cody’s Office”. I, too, enjoy it weekly.
Train Show this weekend down here - our group sets up tonight.
Hope you are doing well - I bet you are getting busy as May approaches.

Dear Cody
Congrats on your 50th episode. I always look forward to your show each week. Every time I see you walk over that big snow pile I get excited because I know you have something good in store for the modeler.

Joe

Cant wait for the 75th one.

Hey Cody, I loved this week’s outtake. When I worked at Kalmbach that darn elevator grabbed at me or my cargo on several occasions, usually when trying to haul project layout parts to or from a show.

For a future Cody’s office, you should ask Andy Sperandeo or Jim Hediger about the elevator at 1027 N. 7th that was nicknamed “Lurch.” I heard some great stories about Lurch attacked Kalmbach employees in the old days. Keep up the good work and good luck to you and David on the next season of Cody’s Office. – Keith Thompson

Great job and congratulations on Cody’s office,I look forward to your videos each week.
Oh,and by-the-way,it was a surprise to see Joe Balint Jr.'s article with my photos in this months MR.“Make lightweight waffle-style benchwork”.Thank you and Model Railroader!

My heart felt congrats to Cody And David for an informative and fun approach to the hobby.I KNOW you guys will never run out of things to put on "the Office"nor will you run out of Yucks! Thanks guys-Lee

Happy 50th anniversary. I liked the elevator part. Here in Holland they made a movie about an attacking elevator way back in the 80’s.

May you do a lot more episodes.

Congrats, Cody! LOL, if ANYONE would get attacked by a killer elevator, it WOULD be you! I always look forward to the Cody’s Office segments each week.

Cody, does Model Railroader ever plan to make the Cody’s Office segments downloadable to subscribers?

I echo Warren Villaescusa’s comment about the Viewer Mail in the first episode. Was that really the first? :sunglasses: Always great to see the videos and I look forward to more!

Félicitations Cody. Vous faites un travail extraordinaire et très apprécié.
