OH NO not another snake oil salesman!!! You forgot to put the side affects in the add. Like all the elixir commercials there has to be 25 seconds worth of dangerous affects for every 30 second spot. You know, the stuff like headache, nausea, overweight pets, uneven tire wear, soggy shirts, and so on. You have to toss in a few abbreviations also. Like RLS, PAD, DUM, ADHD, DVD, and RM. LOL.

I tried cleaning locomotive wheels with the same product (under the generic name) with a Q tip. Your process looks considerably better and easier. Thanks again for another very useful tip.
It’s not a Thursday evening without Cody’s office!! Great works as allways guys!
Can you identify the woman in the Magic Elixir ad? Does she work for Model Railroader or Kalmbach Publishing? I thought maybe she was David’s wife, but thought I had seen David and Cody’s respective wives (sorry, I know you guys have only one wife each)…just wondering.
Good information and I use CVS Isopropyl alcohol 91% in the 32 oz bottle. and also have found it works better than 70%. It cleans the track better than others that I have use in the past.
Hi Cody
I have been successfully using Cigarette Lighter fluid for cleaning my loco wheels using a similar technique and track for many years.
It evaporates very quickly and dries with no residue.
It is available from your local mens hairdressers.
Cheers
Rod
Cody, Well another great episode as always, another way we can use the magic elixer. Dab some on the rail heads, and your locomotive run around the layout. Then place a drop of WAHL Clipper oil on the rail head, this will help keep your rails and whells clean.
Nice Job Cody! Always good to see your stuff.
Outstanding idea on the wheel clean. I have an E6 and F7 down for wheel clean and this will do the trick quite nicely. By the way, 90% Isopropyl is available at some KMarts.
You have to post the art work for Dr. Railroader’s Magic Elixir so we to can have it on our railroads.
That Dr. Railroader’s Magic Elixer commercial was fabulous. Now if I can only find it at the hobby shop…
You should have a downloadable Magic Elixir label just like the Codys Office coffee cup sleeves from a while back.
Just love the cute face on the young lady promoting the magic elixir who is she ?
How about holding a Q Tip soaked in “Magic Elixer” against the driver wheel treads of a steam engine from the side as it turns slowly? I think as long as you are careful, that should work really well.
As always, a fun and informative show, Cody.
Great episode -maybe Cody -you can get to a episode on tools needed for a model railroad-from beginners to experts. Also I wish more kids got into model railroading - There’s to many video games and computer games out there. The kids now a days have no imagination -like when I grew up.We always used our ideas to do things. Model Railroading has so many things that the kids can do and have fun doing it.Plus- they use there minds!!!
Thought I would add my vote for the back issues on CD. I suggested it a few years ago.
great job cody
Great job Cody…love the commercial.
Send the news to the boys and girls up at Kalmbach and MRR that I brought a new railroader, 6 pound 11 ounce baby girl Hannah Grace.
Only a few days old and she is already liking papa’s HO scale railroad. Thank goodness for all white noise!
What happend to PoppArt productions?
Cody, I ,too, enjoy your “office”. Like a couple of other comments, how about cleaning wheels on rod steam engines and tenders. I would guess that the geared engines would be cleaned like the diesel you used.
