Modeler’s Spotlight Video – Inside Cody’s Office for February 15, 2012

hey cody
cant wait for the April 2012 issue MR make your own cast-resin coal laods

Dear Cody and David,

Congratulations on five seasons! Thanks for answering my question on the GS-Hypo cement. I’ll be sure to watch the episode about the cement. I was getting worried that Cody’s Office was going to have less and less shows. I do have one question, what is the difference between resin and plastic?

Thank You,
Alexander

Great to see Kent “Mr. O Scale” Johnson in one of your offfice videos. Be carefull next time you want to press one of those buttons, Cody!

Wow, five seasons. Tempus really does fugit.
BTW, in the leader, with the car running onto the back of the train. I assume you stop to connect the air hoses and perform a Number 2 brake test.
Nice to see I’m not the only one whose drills wobble with a pin vise.
Keep up the good work!

Another 5 star show Cody.
One question: When I am putting down small amounts of balast of senery with a eyedropper, is it better to get more or not enough for the senic cement???

Cody, the beard is coming in nicely! Now, you don’t look so baby faced!

Another good show Cody…
Just wondered if Dave got you some candy for “V” day LOL

Hey Cody another great episode…thanks for answering my question about designing track plans. Also, congrats on FIVE seasons

Hey Cody,

I hope David tells us, in the April issue, why casting coal loads is better/cheaper/faster than making them from foam-core, model coal and white glue.

Hey Cody,

Just want to let you know that your show is my favorite part of my subscription. Thanks!

Cody, Nice as always-- I do have a question: on page 80 of the February 2012 issue of MR, a GS4 in wartime black is reviewed. I wanted to purchase one and called several retailers around the country. They all said that it hadn’t been available in nearly a year. Why review a product that is not available?

Great show Cody. I see a comment here about ballast and glue and it reminds me of a question I’ve had for sometime.
When I was a youngster in the early days of my N scale layout I read about ballasting track with dry powder glue mixed in with the ballast and then saturated with pure water. Is that technique used at all today? I’ve yet to come across it and wouldn’t know were to get the powdered glue.

Cody,
I think I have missed something. A friend told me that he had seen an announcement that Kato was no longer manufacturing HO locomotives. However, their website has HO locomotives on it. Are the HO locomotives on their website just old production and they are no longer making them, or is my friend miss-informed?
Jim Williams, Canton, Ohio

very good and helpful keep up the great work

Cody,

What way would you recommend to install a backdrop that curves around corners on to an already built layout without having too much of a gap between the layout and the backdrop?

Yours,

Cody, so great to see what is new out there. Also, great to see information provided by the Bible of model railroading: MR.

Hey Cody, My first watch of your videos. GREAT! Lots of good information. Thanks.

Now tell me… What do you people do with a, single, huge, large scale turnout sent in by a manufacturer as a demo ?.. Hang it on the wall or raffle it off…

Personnaly, from one bearded man to another… I’d drop the beard…

Great video as always! Congrats on five seasons! What code is Mr. Flexi?
