Modeler’s Spotlight Video–Inside Cody’s Office for March 15, 2012

hey cody cool episode and what the muics u guys play after cody office episode and after the create??

YYAAAYYYY!!! I got my Cody’s Office fix. Thanks for answering my question about the covered hopper. I still want to know if trains are actually in those boxes on the counters of the workshop. They all kind-of look like out of production kits.

Thank You!
Alexander

Love your shows. Have you ever checked out the Ring Engineering Train Controlers. The look very easy to use.

Dear Cody,
Great show. I just recently bought an airbrush and use a similar compressor with it. One topic I think needs to be mentioned is to remember to read the airbrush instructions for proper air pressure regulation with each model airbrush.
Thanks, John Jr

THANKS FOR THE TIPS. I ENJOY THEM ALL.I WOULD STILL LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IS THE BEST UNCOUPLER DEVICED FOR LAYOUT? HOW TO INSTALE IT? THANKS AGAIN

Very good video, he did not say what pressure to set compressor
To supply air brush. If possible could mention it. Great ideas an
Ideas . Looking forward for more. Nice job.

Cody - Another great episode! I look forward to the “Office” every month, but how often are you actually recording them? Question #2 is what is the car that breaks loose and rolls independently?

Hello Cody. I tend to clean the rails and the locomotive wheelsets common with alcohol, kerosene and remover. There’ve been getting good results, like some hint about it. Thanks and a big hug. Alvaro

Hi Cody,

Here’s a tip for you – leave the quick-disconnect coupling attached to your airbrush hose for easy connection to and disconnection from the compressor. These couplings are sold in hardware stores, so it’s easy to put one on any hose you might want to connect.

So long,

Andy

I would like to know who makes your box car and closed hopper car with it lettered for Cody’s Office on them.

Great show as always. I never received my February issue of ‘Model Railroader.’ Was wondering how to get a copy?

Cody
thanks for the airbrush info I’ve wondering if this could be done. Any suggestios as to where I might purchase the moisture trap mentioned?

Hey Cody:
Another good show and this time you saved me a small fortune.
I have a small portable compressor (tough not pancake style) and swore that it couldn’t be used for my new airbrush. Your show proved me wrong. Think of the cars and kits I can buy with that money!
There’s no chance of my wife hearing about this, is there?

Hey Cody…your ‘office’ is something I look forward to every time I get the newsletter. The installment on air compressors was just what I needed. Your presentation was just what I needed! Thanks, again.

Hello Cody, Thanks for the info on the air compressor / Paasche air brush!

Doug

Cody On your segment on aircompressors is that air brush able to handle 150 psi or did you forget about a air reducer for pressure set to 10 psi or the manufacters recommended air supply pressure.

Cool. My setup is very close to this. Many of these cheap portable compressors come with regulators on them, so no external regulator should be needed.

I stopped using a moisture trap with my compressor. It was extra bulk and I only paint with acrylics, so a very small bit of water vapor is negligible.

Finally, it should me mentioned that it is best to use an oil-less compressor because the oil can possibly get into the compressed air, contaminating the paint as it goes on the model. Fortunately, many of the cheapest compressors do not use oil.

Thanks for your hard work,
Eric Carlson

great show cody do not stay gone so long next time

I hate to admit it but I await the “outtakes” which always brings a smile to my face… Cody you are a “hoot”-- glad you have a great sense of humor and are not self centered or smug… enjoy all episodes
