I am painting Woodland Scenics Sonny super service. At first, I painted all the building with the same colors that appeared on the box. Not happy with the result, I decided to completely change the coloration of this building.
Here is where I am now. I still need to find a new color for the roof. suggestion?
I would leave the paint job the way it is and go at it with weathering chaulks using some shades of grey on the roof and dirty the rest up a bit.
This is all done with chaulks only, no paint.

Using chaulks instead of paint you can easily wipe off any excess if you go overboard on the application.
I think the color choices on the station model are fine. I expect some owners wanted bright colors so their business was more noticeable.
Assuming the roof is asphalt shingling, brown is a color one can choose over the typical dark grey.

I think the plain, dark roof is fine, but a bit of subtle weathering would help.
Look at JL Innovative for gas station accessories. They have lots of things in HO, anyway. I like their selection of small details for various oil companies.

Hello All,
Roadside “attractions” i.e. gas stations, often painted the roofs in the colors of the brand of gas they were pedaling.
That could be anything from Shell yellow to Esso blue and Chevron red.
Often times a logo was painted on the roof- -The Mobile oil pegasus for example.
In hotter climes, the roofs were often painted tan to repel the heat of the sun.
