Modeling the Quartz Mountain Flyer

I was wondering if anyone could help me with somthing…I want to model this train:

I doubt anyone has even heard of it…I live in Oklahoma and obsessed with Okie railroads, and only recently heard of it…but I was wondering if you could recomend some ready-to-roll or some easy to moderate difficulty kits that i can repaint to make this train…the loco shouldn’t be hard…im just going to repaint a Walthers gp9, but I don’t know what I am going to do about the rest of the train. Thanks in advance!

Well a GP-9 is the wrong engine for either one. One is a GP-20 which can be had. I believe Tyco made on and it was ok as a runner. The other one appears to be a CF-7 converted from an F7 by the ATSF. About the only recogniozable feature to indicate this is the drip rail over the cab side window. I could be wrong but I am fairly confident in my opinion. I’d just try to find cars that match the windows fairly closely. Good luck and hope it is fun to do.
