ModelPower Head Office. Mantua Parts - Update by Zstripe

Gentlemen,

Since my last thread about Mantua and Modelpower.

I have still not had any parts and no money returned.

Does anybody know how to contact Head office of Model power?

As I do not want to deal with Michael at sales, I want to email the Directors or somebody higher up the chain.

Can you help me?

Many Thanks

Brent

Thanks for your reply.

Does Head Office have email?

Brent

Brent,

I did not notice a E-Mail, add… But a Fax #,I’ll do a little more searching and see,if I can come up with one…I will let you know,on my next reply…

Cheers,

Frank

Brent,

For the Main Office, they do not show a E-Mail add…Fax; # 1-631-694-7133…You mentioned that you spoke to some at sales, with no help…Try this E-Mail add…it is not sales,it is direct customer service…Web Orders/International Shipping,,,,,,,websales@modelpower.com Mon Thru Fri,8 to 4…If you already have that one let me know, for there are more…

Cheers,

Frank

Good luck with that address. Tried it in both google and bing maps…both came up no such location.

Maxman,and Brent,

Well there is no date or up-date on their Web Site,so if they moved or whatever, they are keeping it a secret…I just called,by phone, three different numbers and they are closed,8 to 4,Mon thru Fri…I will call Mon and see if I can come up with something for him…I got nothing else that is in dire straights…

Cheers,

Frank

Whether they moved or not does not appear to be the issue. The street address should still be recognized if it is valid. I just put that address in mapquest and got the same “can not find” message. Are you sure the address is valid?

Maxman,

Whether being valid or not, that is the one that is shown on their contact info, for main office and warehouse…Beats Me…

Cheers,

Frank

One of our club members sent a Mantua HO scale model back to Model Power for warranty repair.

He waited three months and heard nothing. No one would ever answer emails, and he could never get an answer by phone on the status of the repair.

Eventually, Model Power sent it back to him unrepaired with no explanation whether they had even tried.

Model Power seems to be a very poorly managed company.

Google is ______________

Cacole,

After being on their site, many times today,I’m beginning to believe,You are correct, there is something, hokey, going on with that company…

Frank

LEE 1234,

Every E-Mail they show on their Web site, will take you to the one you are showing…I tried them…Something is hokey somewhere…Main office and corporate office is the same address, but they are not there…

Cheers,

Frank

Might be worth inquiring at Walthers on what they could tell you about Model Power / Mantua. Walthers has over 500 HO Model Power items listed and over 100 Mantua, including locos. Seems if they are selling items that might need parts they might be willing to share what they know.

Walthers a just a distribution outlet for Model Power, and would probably have no say or interest in how the company is run.

My personal dealings with Model Power have been less than satisfactory. They are a far different company than Mantua was, with the way they handle parts. Mantua had a woman who was dedicated to the job of mailing out parts and honoring their lifetime warranty. She had parts labeled and bagged for immediate shipment.

Model Power is clueless. I emailed them requesting a parts listing. I got a return email asking for 5 dollars for the listing. Later when I did not respond, they actually mailed me a bill with a second request for 5 dollars prior to sending me the parts listing. So I did without their parts list. Somehow Kato, Atlas, Bowser and others are able to list parts for free but MP cannot even have a PDF available on the web?

Let’s go a different route, shall we?

If it’s a Mantua part you need, you can probably find a listing here, http://hoseeker.net/lit.html They have parts diagrams and numbers for hundreds of models.

Then if Model Power cannot be reached or dealt with, the try someplace that specialised in Mantua Repairs, like Yardbirds Classic trains. http://www.yardbirdtrains.com/

I’ve dealt with Dan at Yardbirds several times, drop him an email, he will get back to you with an answer! They also service & repair Mantua engines for customers. [:D]

Plus Varney, Penn Line, Bowser, English’s and others! [Y]

That won’t help with the OPs problem. I believe that if we go back to the beginning, which I think was actually started in another thread, the OP ordered from Mantua, sent them money, and has been unsuccessful contacting anyone to get what he ordered or a refund.

To All Who Replied,

Well I’ll give it one more shot Monday, for the OP,Him being in the UK,It would be easier for me to do it,then him,so I thought!?? Maybe a call to the US Postal Inspector, but I don’t know if I want to stick my neck out quite that far…

Cheers,

Frank

Blah Blah Blah…

Getting in touch with a company via a simple e-mail via your device is, and should be, no longer possible. They will not look at it, and their spam filters will trash it.

If they do not have a reply form on their site, there is no electronic way to contact them. Once you have made initial contact via the form, then yes, e-mail will work since they will give you an inside address.

Look at website of LION (below), at the bottom of the home page there is a line marked “Contact”, and that opens a form. Search the source code, the email address is NOT THERE.In the case of my site, the form goes to a vendor in England who sends it back to my email account. They know my address, and you do not, or more importantly web bots do not know it.

This keeps spam bots out of the website and out of my mailbox. If I can do it, you can bet your locomotive that any good business can do it too. If you cannot find a reply form, then you cannot contact them, because an email address will be so swamped that they will stop looking at it anyway.

LION spends hundreds of dollars a year using an outside vendor to vet incoming email (to our corporate account) and him for one, trusts it enough that him will not even review the quarantine messages unless him has reason to look for something.
