Is this site any good for ordering items, i would like to see reviews before i buy a $200+ engine [swg]

www.modeltrainstuff.com is the web operation of M B Klein - They have to be one of the best model train mail order operations out there. I have ordered from them many times and the service has always been very good and shipping has been fast.

I’ve ordered a couple of locomotives from them. Great prices and they have a real-time, on-line inventory.

A few months ago, I decided to test that feature out. As soon as I placed my order for a last remaining locomotive, I went back to check to see how quickly the inventory was updated. The web site already said “Sold out”. I received my order in just a few days.

Highly recommended.

Me too. I’ve bought 2 Milwaukee GP-9’s and a Milwaukee Alco RSC-3. Great service every time.

I recently bought an Athearn GP40X (#2 for my collection) and also bought 2 Accurail centerflow hoppers at the same time. The price for the GP40X and 2 hoppers plus shipping, was about $3 less than what I stupidly paid at the LHS when the 40X’s first came out. The shipping time was not bad either, less than a week, and believe me, I’m going to go shop with M.B. again (sounds like ebay feedback).

That’s why I’m in the online retailer corner chanting: LONG LIVE ONLINE STORES!

Overall I give them high marks. I’ve won several Ebay items from them, have called them/emailed them with questions and received friendly, courteous service. [:D]

I’m terribly spoiled, I live about a 35-minute drive from them! [^] Order online, drive over and pick it up.

I got a dicountuned Proto RS-11 there. Came within a week. I also live in socal & this place is in Maryland!!

I swtiched to them as a main supplier after getting burned by internettrains.com. MB Klein has exeeded all my expectation for an online retailer and thier prices are usually quite low compared to other places. I do have to go to other sites for certian odds and ends that MB Klein doent carry, but all it in they are great! Almost Ideal for a consumer in a town that doens’t have a proper Hobby Shop within 180 miles…

I don’t order online from them but I buy from the store, they are a trusted operation. They moved there location last summer from Baltimore to Timonium last summer an have a smaller physical presence but their internet site hasn’t changed.

I order from them and never had a problem…I also like their turn around time.In my case less then a week after the order is place.

I visit their store every once in a while. (While my favorite is still Peach Creek Shops) I find MB Kline is excellent and the staff most helpful.

I have purchased from them a number of times both through their E-Bay store and also through their main store. Prices are great, postage and handling charges (note I am in Canada) are reasonable as well, and delivery is quick. Have had questions and staff always responded to my e-mails. Would recommend MB Klien any time.

I have ordered from modeltrainstuff.com and their sevice is excelent. And like tstage I ordered the last guilford engine, went back a little later it was marked out of stock.

You are lucky, I have had several orders from them w/o a problem. If I lived near them my wife would go [soapbox][banghead]

They are my number one source. Good prices, quick shipping, and no hassles when there is a problem. When I called about an Item that I had a problem with, the first words were to the effect “What can we do to make you happy?”. I had the replacement item in my hands in a week…including the time it took to send back the problem item.

I’ve dealt with them via Ebay,online and over the phone and you know what? Excellent service every time, fast shipping reasonable prices including shipping (I’m north of the border).

Now go order from them already, I can’t see you having any problem with them at all.
