MODERATORS DID IT AGAIN

They closed another thread while it might have been at times a little steamy i was certain it was cival, I was also talking with Norris about the post and why i was posting things. Crandell on the other hand was not in my conversations or thoughts, maybe should have kept him in the line of fire also.

BUT that is not why i open this thread I have started this thread due to the fact I screwed up. In one of my post while i was carefull of what i was saying i did slip and said to MODEL CAR to move to japan you probley be taller than those people or something to that extent, and that was totally uncalled for and after it was posted didnt even seam funny as was the intent. A total blunder and unexcusable on my part and with that please accept my appollogy ( sorry i cant spell i hope you understand where im going) and in the future i will leave as much of my dry sense of humor out of my post.

thanks for hearing me out

Apology accepted.

By the way, I was in Japan nearing 60 years ago, and was glad to return to the USA.

Thanks, Wabash. I am not pointing fingers, and I hope my closure sounded friendly, or at least non-cross. I just felt it was slipping out from between my fingers, and I didn’t want it to hit the ground and get away on me…if you understand. Also, it had drifted to unionism, if that can be used as a word, and Toyotas and Fords…was getting quite a bit off topic.

I think we all did really well for this topic, which Bergie probably would have let get up to two posts, to go for three pages. It says we’re all trying, mods too. [:)]

Fair enough, by/ for everyone, I think. I too noticed that on Page 4 of that thread, there wasn’t a whole lot that was rail-related, other than portions of some posts by zugmann pertaining to railroad union-management relations, and MP173/Ed about his observation at Trinity Railcar.

If you say that union is not rail related then paul you are lost. the railroads is all about unions. and one could say if its transportation the unions have made it what it is today. Now i am not going to say you should be for or against unions that is for each person to ponder, but if you are getting a great or even good wage and benifits you can thank a union. Now that dont mean to be in denial and it also dont mean you haft to pick up a picket sign and walk the line, just a little respect as what we fight for today will benifit almost everyone tomorrow.

Lets be real I am not hear to preach and i dont agree with all things a union does. and that other thread went into a twist on what car to buy or not. but any time 100 people stand up for whats right can make a better impression than 1 person standing for what he thinks is right.

Hmm, not surprised by seeing which person(s) were involved.

awww, where’s the love?

…??

The moderators are human volunteers and I, for one, think they do a pretty good job.

The political atmosphere in this country has gotten to a very agitated state that borders on hysterical, and it has a way of creeping into most conversations. It has to be difficult to decide when and where to draw the line.

wabash1 - Rail unions such as the BLE and UTU - and esp. the fine people in the BMWE - are a fine topic for discussion, and I have no problem with that. I fully understand their place in history and the need - even convenience, and reliability - of having them today, in certain industries such as coal mining as well as in railroading, so you might not get much of a debate out of me about them.

But my impression of Page 4 - which might be mistaken - is that it was mainly about the UAW, and maybe unions in general, which seemed to be getting a little far afield from railroads - to me anyway, that’s all. No offense or ‘marginalization’ of the union movement or membership was intended by me.

mmmm—maybe somewhere else? Out in some foggy field -----with a cookie eating goat[:-^]

That kind of love is a crime!
