You should not have to pull a railsounds car as most new Williams engines come with a horn unit of some sort. The horn may not be the best but at the price for Williams I will not complain!
An MTH Z1000 transformer or equivalant should work any horn or whistle on most Williams engines.
The external Lionel sound button won’t work all the features of a Williams engine, my GP-9 won’t activate the bell feature with the Lionel sound button(small add on device).
