CZ:

Took some time to look at ‘your Photobucket’ shots. Really quite a nice set of albums!

Thanks, for sharing them. [tup] [tup]

This must be the season for building pipelines!

There is one being built just east of here, coming out of Cushing, Okla.going North

I’m told it is going all the way to Canada(?) Maybe, Maybe not.

Pretty good sized line (about 24"), and is being stockpiled in at least two areas around here,

just now West of Winfield,Ks., and just South US 400, West of Beaumont,Ks.

Thanks for the comments.

I am not sure where it will end up but the Northcal headsup had said it was going to Modoc. We have seen several special trains lately as my photobucket shows several of those.

It’s going to Lakeview, Or. for staging. The UP has put quite a bit of effort into fixing up the Lakeview branch for this traffic. It is for the Ruby pipeline from Wyoming to Merril, Or. . There are staging areas in Gerlach, Nv. and Elko, Nv. also.

Elko, Nv.

Gerlach, Nv…

Thanks for the information about the staging area.

I haven’tseen the Lakeview site. Elko and Gerlach are right next to the tracks.

Nice shot of the SMEPZ 18, CZ.

Here is the same SMEPZ from the day before, climbing up the Cajon pass above Alray (BNSF) on UP’s Mojave Sub. Sure was an impressive train, plus throw in the fact that the 3rd unit wasn’t pulling up Cajon made for one interesting show!!

That trackbed looks awesome. Good as just laid. I love pictures that show the infrastructure.
