Modular Club

After some time trying to decide how to work things, 2 of my friends and I are starting an O scale three rail modular club in the Brevard / Indian River County area of Florida. We are going to use the Hi-Railers Standards for module building. As of this time the “club” will build, own and maintain four corner modules with a minium 054 turn. it will also own and maintain a standard 4ft module. We are planning at this time to have a one time membership fee and also a monthly due to help pay for the module upkeep and to buy a trailer for the club owned pieces. We will be using Gargraves track and switches along with Ross Custom Switches. We plan on setting up 4 times a year at the local train show and also getting with the local VFW or similar group and holding a public display once a month or so. We are planning on using both TMCC and conventional control. Members will be able to build as many modulars as they want and may do as they please with them as long as they end tracks line up. I.E. I plan on building at least a 12ft section with a double track in front and the thrid track towards the rear with an urban industrial switching theme,

I am putting this out there in case there is anybody from Central Florida who would be intrested in becoming a member. Myself and the other two founders are having a meeting tonight to finish the details and then we will begin construction on the five club modules as well as our personal ones. We hope to have our first get together in late September of October to work out the bugs before going public in either November or December for the holiday season.

You can contact me through this website or post if you would like additional information.

This is awesome. You guys will be working very quickly to get everything up and working by October! I for one would love to join something like this, but I think I would be the only person in the modular club that uses carpet and premade foam tunnels on their layout. One a side note, I would love to make a kid friends modular layout someday. You dont see many of those. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly!
