Modular layout - lift out section?

I just posed the query below on the General Discussion list, thought there may be possible answers on this one too:

Does anyone have photo or plans for a lift out section for a modular model railroad? It’s getting to be quite a pain (literally!) to crawl in and out of our club’s modular setup, and none of us is getting any younger.

One of our members was at the recent show in Springfield, MA and remarked that one layout there had such a section. But of course he did not have his camera with him to take photos.

Anyone have any help?

Thanks!

Bob-
As far has having plans or a website with pics or plans I do not . I have seen it and it is pretty easy. There is a club here in the area that has 2x2s on the end of every module so the next module can rest on the 2x2s. When is comes time to tear it down or get inside they just lift out a section and away they go. I’m sorry this hasnt been much help.

HI bob

build a modual normall size but make out of 3/4" plywood with a thin section about 3ft long and 6 inches wide that isnt permanently attached so you can just run your mainline across it. Make this “bridge” by putting a hing on the bottom of the “bridge” and the bottom of the modual. On the other end put high powered magents on the end of the “bridge” on the modual section put more high powered magnets and guides so it lines up nicelly. The "bridge Sould swing down out of position and then swing back up and lock in place with the magnets and guides. Although you have to make shur it is lined up every time you use it. And that it is up when a train goes by. If you send me your e-mail adddress i will send you some autocadd drawings.
