Moment with Mookie

Have no questions - been too cold and too much snow to go watch trains this past weekend. But it is nice to hear train whistles instead of snow blowers at night.

But a riddle for you: Which spouse said it? We lost our 17 year old - microwave, so went to get a replacement. Of course, the one we wanted wasn’t in stock. So while looking at the rest, we spotted a GE that seemed to have what we wanted in a microwave. One spouse said " I don’t know much about GE, so don’t know if they are any good at all". The other spouse replied, “well, they made the Dash 9!”.

I will leave it up to you to draw your own conclusions as to who said it and what she was inferring…[}:)] [:D]

And yes, we bought the GE…

Mookie

Does it have dynamic brakes?

Still reading the manual. May have to take night classes to get through it!

Does it have yellow thingies on the cord???
stay safe
Joe

Presumably if Alco made one it would come with a smoke hood!

If it’s any thing like a dash 9 it will handily double as a vibrator… for sore backs and stuff.
Randy

When you microwave leftovers for too long, does it smoke like an out of tunr Dash9?

Does it sound like an GE Locomotive when you heat up that cup of coffiee in the morning?

What kind of horn does it have? Leslie,Nathan? 3 or 5 chime?[:D]
Did you use a 'trade-in’microwave cart?[:D]

When you attempt to heat things up too fast, does it shoot out flames? Hope not!

2 cycle, 4 cycle or wash cycle?

It hasn’t done the familiar “whoop” yet. It does have a bell and it is pretty quiet. But insistent! It does warn that it will burn food if you don’t do it right…guess that is a GE!

The instructions are as complicated as running any locomotive, but it is almost as quiet as an SD70 - wonder if they collaborated on this?

There aren’t too many companies out there anymore that make everything from Microwaves to Locomotives.

And don’t forget toasters!

And light bulbs!
Mookie, you said it was pretty quiet, are you sure it’s a GE? That sounds more like an EMD.Or a GE that isn’t running[:(].

…Jen, I’l give you a bit of help here…You were wondering if the GE was a good product…We have a “Spacesaver” GE above stove microwafe that is now 24 years old and still running. We recently tried to find a replacement for it but sizes have changed since then so still wondering which way to go. New models make it too low to the stove. Maybe we’ll have to reinstall a range hood and purchase new microwave to just set on counter when we do replacement. Believe we’ve had 2 service calls for the GE in that amount of time.

I forgot to ask earlier about what kind of antenna came with it.
Was it a “Firecracker”?[:D][}:)]

Q: Our old mw was a Sharp Carousel - 1988 and it had one service call years ago. They have upgraded them quite a bit, but they still just basically cook. Now the price - that’s a lot nicer. They are getting pretty cheap. I guess the plasma tv’s are the $ makers! We are still driving the old 1981 LTD daily, so you can see we really wear things out!

LM - I have the turntable from the old one on the top - communicating what will happen if this one gives me a bad time!

…Yes, Jen very expensive back then and for the most part our unit has mainly been used for heating coffee water…!!
